“ Look, I’m sorry I got you involved in all of this. I know you’re scared and confused, but I promise I’m here to help you. I don’t know hardly anything about this place, and I need to know what I’m up against. I knew if I asked any of the elves here they would report me. I can’t have that. I-” Her voice went quiet when Keysha held out her hand.
“ Hi, m-my name is Keysha. I have no title, my last name is not one of great lineage, and the only thing I can really do is knit a nice sweater. What’s your name?” Keysha returned the gentle and warm smile she had been given. But Michiko did not respond. She looked long and hard at the hand outstretched in front of her, a completely shocked expression on her face. “ Michiko, that is my name.”
“ Well, it’s nice to meet you… at least I hope it is. Uh, why would you be thrown in jail? I mean I know why I would, not really all that elven.” The amber eyed gazelle questioned as she shook Michiko’s hand. “ Ah… well… that’s because.” Michiko never in her life found it difficult to tell someone she was a magic user. She didn’t know how this jumpy kind gazelle would react. She took a deep breath and decided on what she was going to do next.
“ Don’t freak out.” Michiko did not give much warning as she cast a blue magic spell on Keysha that disguised her as a tanned skinned elf with curly hair that reached her shoulders. The only thing that didn’t change about her was her amber eyes. It didn’t register in Keysha’s mind that anything had changed. That was until she realized she could not see the speckles on her muzzle, in fact, her muzzle was not even there at all.
She felt her face and ran her fingers through her hair. “ Where… fur… muzzle…hooves, why are my knees backwards?” She fumbled over her words and promptly shrunk down onto her knees. “ It’s not permanent, I used magic.”“ You…used…. WHAT?!” Keysha interrupted and Michiko threw her hands over Keysha’s mouth.“ Shh, I have no intention of hurting you. Yes it was magic, but not all magic is evil.” Michiko took a moment to breathe.
