Hello fellow adventurers! This is yet another look into the strange land of Tamriel. this time we look at Oblivion, or the province of Cyrodiil. I hope you enjoy this look into a new fantasy. Don’t forget to look at the merch we have available on the site.
The land of Cyrodiil, a region full of mystery and wonder. With it’s beautiful and colorful landscapes, the interesting citizens who dwell within the many cities, creatures that intrigue and frighten you, and a history of great civilisations and terrible devastation, this land is truly inviting.
Cyrodiil is the definition of beauty and wonder. From the misty cold mountains of Bruma, to the clear shoes of Leyawiin, it’s stunning appearance stands strong. There’s always something special about looking across a forest of tall lush trees and thick greenery, or watching the snowfall in the mountains. It always gives you that feeling and sense of freedom.
Speaking of freedom, you can truly go anywhere in Cyrodiil. You’ll run into bandits and lots of other dangers on the roads, but the cities are always a delight. You can get lost in conversations with all sorts of people. They tell you many things. They tell you things like local rumors or give you information for a quest you may be doing for someone. It’s easy to get lost in many of these cities, but a guard is always there to give you directions. And depending on your reputation throughout Cyrodiil, will determine how most people will treat you. It truly makes you reflect on what actions you take in this region of Tamriel.
Indeed the actions you take matter. If you choose to trek through the wilderness, or dive deep into a cave but come ill prepared, then the creatures that dwell there will surely get the best of you. Of course there are animals like wolves, black bears, bears in general, and even wild boars, but there are far more dangerous things that lurk around every corner. Inps, for instance, are not inherently all that powerful. But they do shoot magical attacks at you that can be quite damaging. But they are not as scary as minitars, ogers, trolls, liches, zombies, and there are more. Yet if I listed them all I would be here all day. You must simply know how to gage every situation.
I suppose that leads us to the history of this strange land. With ancient elven ruins and long forgotten fortresses, now infested with unimaginable threats, this land is truly rich with history to uncover. I presume by the time you get around to traveling to this beautiful region of Tamriel, you will be at the start of what everyone calls the “ Oblivion crisis.” it was a terrible thing, it happened all across Tamriel but started in Cyrodiil.
Gates to an entirely other dimension began to open all across the world. Horrible creatures flooded out of these portals of damnation and became a threat to all who crossed their path.
So dear reader, if you are willing to take up arms I implore you to do so. Take up arms “ and close shut the jaws of Oblivion,” so peace may once again envelope the lands of Cyrodiil and the rest of the world.
